Tech App 8.24.1 Login Fixes and Bug Patches
Tech App 8.24.1 — No New Features. Just Less Chaos.
Nothing shiny and new. Just a handful of annoying edge cases that got quietly hunted down and dealt with. The app works the way it always should have.
Login & Authentication
QR code login no longer bounces you back to square one. In certain setups, scanning a QR code to log in would kick you back to the login page instead of actually logging you in. Counterproductive. Fixed for the handful of users who hit this.
Okta users: the loading screen is not your home screen. Some users logging back in through Okta would land on a perpetual loader. It had all the confidence of a spinning beach ball and none of the usefulness. Resolved.
The forced-logout doom loop is dead. In rare cases, usually after a forced logout or a bad local database state the app would get stuck on a loader with no way out. A very specific kind of purgatory. Fixed.
Missing token? Now the app actually tells you. When a login token was absent after authentication, the app used to respond with unhelpful silence. Now it surfaces the right error message so you know what's actually wrong. Affected a small number of edge-case login flows.
Work Orders
Scrolling through your full Work Order list on mobile works again. A narrow edge case was preventing some technicians from scrolling past a certain point in their Work Orders list. You were technically looking at your tasks. You just couldn't reach half of them. Fixed.
iOS
The New Task sheet now dismisses like it's supposed to. On iOS, tapping outside or swiping down on the New Task page did nothing. It sat there. Unmoved. For a small percentage of iOS users, it was the most stubborn screen in the app. Now it goes away when you tell it to.
Photos
Photos that thought they uploaded but didn't: handled. In specific situations after completing an inspection or Work Order, photos could silently fail to upload. No error, no warning, just quietly gone. Fixed. Your photos make it through now.
Download V8.24.1 from the App Store or Google Play. It's a small one, but you'll miss it if you don't.
