Big Summer Release | What’s New in AppWork
Welcome to our BIG Summer Release!
We’ve packed this update with powerful new features and improvements across AppWork. Whether you’re focused on work orders, make readies, or inspections, there’s something here to make your job easier and more efficient. This release brings major upgrades to inspections, game-changing improvements to work orders, and handy touches to make readies smoother. Dive in to see what’s new!
1. Inspection Analytics
Say hello to the brand-new Inspection Analytics page — your go-to spot for rich visualizations and insights into your inspection data.
Some powerful new metrics include:
- Average inspection completion time
- Number of assigned inspections
- Number of past due inspections
- Inspections due today
- Open vs. completed inspections
- Completed inspections by assignee
- Heatmap of inspections by property or unit
- Day of the week inspections are completed
Filter by date range, property, group, or template to unlock actionable trends and optimize your inspection process.
Find it under: Analytics > Inspections
2. Inspection Comparison Report
Also known as the AB2801 Compliance Report, this feature lets you compare any two inspections side by side — including progress on action items.
The most common use case? Comparing move-in and move-out inspections to streamline documentation and stay compliant — especially for our California clients.

3. Auto-Cancel Inspections
AppWork now auto-cancels autogenerated inspections when their associated triggers are canceled.
Example: If a resident cancels their move-in, the scheduled inspection will be automatically canceled before the date arrives.
Set this up at: Settings > System Settings > Maintenance > Inspections > Select Template > Settings > Scroll to bottom
4. Auto-Add Due Dates to Inspections
Autogenerated inspections can now include automated due dates!
Example: If a move-out inspection is set to autogenerate 3 days before move-out, you can set it to be due 6 days later (3 days after the move-out).
Configure this in: Settings > System Settings > Maintenance > Inspections > Select Template > Settings > Scroll to bottom
5. Yardi Integration for Inspections
Using Yardi? You’ll love this upgrade.
When an inspection is completed in AppWork and linked to a resident, a PDF (with photos!) is now automatically uploaded to that resident’s Documents section in Yardi.
If a post fails, you’ll see an error message and can manually retry once the issue is resolved.
6. Inspection Page Updates
- New filters: Easily view inspections due today or past due
- Subscribe to those filters for proactive email reminders
- Faster load times on the inspections index
- Updated design for inspection tags
- Zip file downloads now include full-size images
- Units now appear in correct order when creating inspections

- RealPage clients: You can now copy work order category mapping across properties
- When rating links are active, residents are auto-forwarded to your review site after leaving feedback
- A green bubble appears next to a resident’s name if they have unread texts—both when viewing the work order and on the index page—making it easier to see resident responses
- We now pull more details from Yardi for work orders created there and include it in the AI model to improve auto-characterization
8. Technician Improvements

- New tech setup: Choose whether to send the welcome text upon creation (and resend anytime)
