Asset Tracking, Unit Groups, and New Updates
Welcome to the latest and greatest version of AppWork! We’ve got some incredible new features rolling out, including Asset Tracking, Unit Groups, Auto replies, new work order categories, and more bug fixes.
This is one of those releases where you click around and keep finding more. We’ve got a total of 6 or 7 upgrades in one shot, and yes, we know the 6/7 thing is almost past its prime, so we are squeezing in one more before everyone forgets about it.
NEW Asset Tracking
It’s here. Our very first iteration of Asset Tracking is officially live and available to every AppWork client at no extra cost. Yes, free. We like you like that.
Now you can log every asset, where it lives, and its warranty info, all in one clean place. No more mystery HVAC units. No more “I think that water heater is… kinda new?”
Everything. Tracked. Like it should be.
To Create a New Asset:

Unit Groups
You can now create Unit Groups to organize units by building, section, phase, vibe, favorite letter of the alphabet, you name it.
Go wild.
To create a group:
Settings > Property Settings > General > Unit Group > Create New Group

Unit groups are now available in the units filter on the work order page.
Text Message Auto-Reply
Ever have a resident respond to a text and… nothing happens?
Not anymore.
If you don’t want to manage and respond to text messages inside of AppWork, you can now enable a Text Message Auto-Reply so residents receive an automatic response when they reply to an AppWork message letting them know that the phone number they texted is a no-reply number.
To enable:
Settings > System Settings > Core > Communication Replies > Enable Text Message Autoreply
Because silence is awkward.
Missed Call Announcement
When residents call back the AppWork phone number from a missed technician call, they will now hear an announcement letting them know that the line they reached cannot accept calls and they need to contact the leasing office.
Three New Work Order Categories
- Safety: Alarm
- General: Baseboard/Trim
- Property: Walkway/Pavement
Bug Fixes
Resolved over a dozen bug fixes. Some were tiny. Some were sneaky. None survived.
