Main Control Board: AC & DC Connectors

 You can't do anything. Well, something very easy that you can do is measure 13.5 volts DC coming from the main control board, and if there's no voltage coming from the main, the problem is not the UI, it is the main control board. So again, I get a lot of technicians that say, "Hey, I d- I had a dead display.

I swapped it out. I even changed it twice because I thought the first part was defective, and it's still not working." Well, it's not the user interface. It's probably your, uh, main board that is not supplying voltage. Did you check it? No. Well, there you go. Th- there's your problem right there. So we want to help you avoid that kind of a situation.

All right. With that said, my friends, we're going to go ahead and zoom right in to the main control board over here because before we look at the schematics di- schematic diagrams, you, you have to know, right? You have to understand how a schematic symbol is actually going to take you to the, to the board, right?

To, to place your multimeter leads. So let's, um, go ahead and show you some of the AC connectors, and for that, we're just going to go ahead and label them in, in red over here. So anything red, high voltage, right? Danger. Uh, and let's zoom into some of these just to give you a better close-up view. So, like, this would be J101, and, uh, there will be a, a silk screened, uh, nomenclature on the board saying J101, so you're actually going to be able to see that.

Let's go ahead and look at J513. So that's J513. I believe that is your door lock, uh, connector. J514 is where your water valves are, and J512 is your drain pump. All right, so these are just some of the, um, some of the connectors for J506. There's-- That's another one we'll talk about. But these are some of your AC connectors, and now let's talk about the DC connectors.

Uh, those are the ones that are going to be in blue, and there's more than the ones I put there. I'm just putting a couple as, as examples right now. So if we zoom in, right, you're going to notice that the spades or the pins on these DC connectors are much smaller than the AC ones, right? And the reason for that is because they carry DC signal, which is lower voltage.

The AC connectors carry high voltage, 120. So the spades, the, the, the pins, if you will, they have to be a little bit wider.
