Washer Accelerometer #1
Now, there's one component we didn't talk about and I wanna mention it today, and that is your accelerometer. Alright, now the accelerometer job is to check for out of balance conditions. So if you, for example, come home from vacation and you have a ton of clothes in your suitcase and you're like, you know what?
It's late at night. I just wanna wash these clothes as quickly as possible because I don't have time to do it in the morning, so I'm gonna throw everything in the washing machine. And select Quick wash. And that machine is gonna go all outta balance because it's not designed to wash that heavy load in the quick wash cycle.
So you're gonna throw it all, all outta balance. So the accelerometer is there to prevent your machine from essentially killing itself by going all crazy. Um, and of course that could prevent the washer from, from spinning, but. Um, in general, if the accelerometer is bad, it will give you a fault code right away.
Okay? Now, how do you get that fault code? Well, you have to go into the service mode, you have to retrieve it, uh, you have to do all of that. Let me go ahead and show you very quickly over here. How we are gonna leverage Smart HQ to get our fault codes. So, uh, this is a dashboard screen right here as you can see, and all the way at the, uh, well in the middle of the screen you see the faults.
If you just go ahead and click on that every single fault code that is stored in the machine, there you go. Outta balance. It's an active fault code. You see it right there, right? Every single fault code is gonna be displayed, and you're also going to get a, um, you're also gonna get a. Description below of how to approach it.
So there's absolutely no need for you to press a series of key code sequences. Go back and forth to a tech sheet or something. The, the code's right there, it's very easy for you. The other thing I talked about, my friends is how do you know if your customer's overloading their machine or they are?
Getting some kind of an outta balance condition. Well, you could ask them. You could say, Mr. And Mrs. Customer, did you overload your washer and select quick wash? Or did you put towels and select the normal cycle or bedding? They're realistically speaking, they're not gonna tell you that. But if you use the Smart HQ service applications diagnostic feature, so we're gonna go diagnostic features and cycle history.
