What are some tips on how to be successful in the industry? Well, the first thing is you have to be very proficient at what you do, so you should be able to do. Okay. Almost all of the service requests that you can or learn how to do them over time. Be coachable. Have a wonderful attitude. But remember, it's not always who can make the most or the best repairs.

It is not who can repair the most air conditioning systems, stoves, or appliances very often that people, the people that do well. In this industry are the people that are amazing with working with other people. As a technician, you're expected to be able to do most repairs, and oftentimes more than your supervisor or your manager, because their job is to supervisor or manage.

But I will say this opportunities get multiplied and presented to the people that are great at their job. And have wonderful social skills, so make sure you learn how to communicate effectively. You can read the room. You can read the room with a customer that's upset and deescalate. You can talk to people and communicate in a way that gets to the point that provides honest, good feedback, but everyone feels better.

And communication is a skill and you have to become masterful at it. When you're in the service industry just as much as you have to become masterful at making all of the repairs. So to be successful, be on time, be eager to learn, be positive, but keep it real. Be coachable. Show up, lead. In a way that makes people wanna follow and be and know that you don't know everything, and sometimes you're going to be wrong, and sometimes you're gonna be a little embarrassed and all you have to do is make it right.

Those are the qualities. Whatever qualities you look up for to in someone or look for in a leader that you would admire and respect. Everyone is looking for those qualities in you as a technician and a manager wants you to perform at your job. And help the financial success of the property and the company.

Your supervisor wants you to do all of the tasks and help everyone on the team become successful. So just ask everyone on the team, how can I help make you and this team more successful? And you'll be way ahead of most everyone else.
