Golf Cart Safety & Maintenance Tips
If you have golf carts on your property, I highly recommend a few things. Number one, if it's electrical, check the batteries. It is amazing to me how many. Batteries actually need water on a regular basis yet don't get it. And you know, that'll really extend the life of the golf cart batteries. And they're expensive to replace, but it should be part of your inspections.
But also, are you inspecting the inspections themselves? Like in other words, do your technicians or does anyone just check off? Or do they actually go and take a look at it? The other thing is not just the batteries and making sure they're full, but when people drive the golf carts. And you know, it may seem simple, but I've seen it a million times, is people will have their foot hanging out of the golf cart, they'll put their foot up and they ride around and they don't realize that those simple things are unsafe.
I mean, if your foot gets rolled underneath the golf cart, well you're driving, I'm pretty sure you're gonna have an injury. And you know, it was avoidable. And you know, are they driving safely? And believe me, I'm sure you have some stories too, but it blows my mind some of the things that people think. It is acceptable to do on a golf cart driving up and down like they're four wheeling through the property instead of driving safely.
So make sure your technicians, your leasing agents, anyone that drives a golf cart is driving it safely. They're keeping their feet inside. You check the mechanical systems, you check the batteries, you make sure that there's gas in it. You make sure that there's no leaks and that the tires have air in them, but that everybody has all their hands and feet inside.
And so that's my recommendation with golf carts.
