Different Roles, Same Team
Something I wish someone told me sooner in my career when I was a technician. Very often I would hear people on the team say, well, you know, I can do more. I can repair more than my supervisor. Well, the answer is you should be able to. The supervisor's main role is to be the supervisor, not make every repair known to mankind.
As a technician, your role is to make as many repairs as possible, and if you want to move up, learn what it means to be a supervisor. Increasingly month after month, year after year. So you can be as prepared as possible for that role if it's presented to you. But everybody has a different role. Every piece on the chess board has a different role.
There's not one that's really more important than the other. I. But each piece is allowed to do and has certain restrictions and rules on how they move and what they can and can't perform, and what their functions are. So work together as a team. Make sure that you understand everybody. Everybody works hard.
They do the best they can. There's no easy job on the property. Do someone else's job for a few months and you'll see, wow, this is more than I thought. So learn to appreciate everybody's contribution on the team. Talk to your teammates, see what you can come up with. Make specific plans to achieve those, and you'll be glad that you did.
