Hello everyone. The next topic is about reporting things that you may find while you're doing your work. For example, when you are doing a physical inspection, it has happened to me where I have gone to a physical inspection, and this is actually typically why. I typically take two more people with me.

I take a maintenance worker who coworker who helps me doing the small detectors and all of those repairs and checking everything on that end, I'm checking something else. I'm taking photos. I'm doing the software to go ahead and do that, and I have my onsite manager helping me as well. So see, typically there's three, but there will be times whether there would, has a group.

Or sometimes by yourself that you come across things that may not be acceptable. For example, you're doing work, you're doing work on a closet the tenant did not move some of their items. And and it becomes more than obvious than in front of you. You have a gun. I. This tenant has a gun. What do you do in that case?

Correct. Or that you see that somebody has you can see that somebody's consuming drugs. Correct. And you can see some of the stuff that they use, a pipe, et cetera. So on those things it's important that you report that. If you find an opportunity to go ahead and report that to your to your team, to your on onsite managers, to your supervisors, why?

Because that may be crucial information that may be used in any type of case. When it comes to that. Imagine if you're say nothing and then for whatever reasons a tragedy happens. How would you feel about that if you could have the power to go ahead and help? Prevent something from happening.

That's how important this is. I know it's uncomfortable at times because sometimes maintenance people, we, us as maintenance people do not wanna get into situations of that nature. But remember we also have a moral obligation to report this because this will be a situation where it can prevent a tragedy from happening.

For example. So for example, I had the experience, unfortunately to find drugs, pipes all those things, guns. Guns that were not registered, for example, and things of that nature. And then I had to report it. I had to report it to the management. And eventually on some managers went ahead and got contact supervisors and at that point they contacted their attorney and then went to the proper process.

Okay. And always do that through the proper channels. Because you need to be able to be careful about that. You don't know if none of those things that you find is either causing or preventing a crime, and is it very crucial? So my advice to you is that when you're there, please do not ignore what happens there.

And if it becomes more than obvious by accident, that when you're doing an inspection, don't keep it to yourself. Report this internally. There has to be a policy within your company you're working with to share this information internally. Share, express it and let them take the proper channels to see what they're gonna do with that type of information.

But because it can be the difference between preventing a tragedy or not and also it provides you a lot of things what may be happening in the household. I. Domestic violence abuse type of authority against another tenant. So many different things. We don't want that to escalate, and if we can help prevent that, it's gonna help us a lot.

So I hope that this helps you. I hope that you always keep your eyes alert of what may happen in your surroundings, not just inside the units, but also outside. We're not writing people out because I know people may think that's the case. No. If you're simply using this information. Reporting it to the proper proper channels and let them address it.

It's better than not saying something and eventually some tragic happens and then you're not able to take that back. So that is what it is. I know that sometimes this could be a difficult topic for many, but we need to do what's right and what's right is to be able to report that I. To our super supervisors to make sure they, due to the proper channels, call alterna if necessary and approach it in the best way, in the best way possible.

Okay? So have a good one. Keep the good work and continue what you're doing.
