As maintenance technicians in the multifamily industry, we are under a lot of stress. We're overworked. Uh, we have tight deadlines, we're short staffed, and that can lead to a lot of mental health challenges. So I've got a few suggestions to help. Keep everybody as mentally sound as possible. One, you need to find a way to prioritize your self-care.

Uh, myself, I like to play golf. Uh, I like to play disc golf. Um, I like to ride my bike. Um, those are things I do to prioritize myself. Whatever that is for you, find it and find a way to do it. If you like to fish. You like to walk, you like to play video games, board games, sit on the couch, whatever it is, prioritize your self care.

Uh, set boundaries at work. Try to avoid excessive overtime. I know some of it we can't help on-call time. I get it. But really try to set a, a, a boundary and make sure that you're giving yourself, yourself plenty of downtime in order to recover. Uh, don't be afraid to talk about it, right? If you're becoming overwhelmed, you're becoming super stressed.

Build those relationships with your staff, with your coworkers, and do not be afraid to tell somebody, Hey, I'm stressed. And I need to talk about this. Don't hold that kind of stuff in. All right. It'll help, help you prevent burnout, right? Uh, one of the other things you can do, uh, that really helped me out was staying organized.

Nothing stresses me out more than walking into a shop and finding it completely destroyed. So prioritize your self care, set your boundaries. Talk about it. And get organized. Plan out your day as much as possible so that you can alleviate those stressful moments when they come.
