Hydrostatic Valve Explained

Ever wonder why pools can crack, pop, or even float when the water table rises? In this demo, we show how a hydrostatic valve works by releasing pressure and equalizing forces around your pool. This simple component prevents costly damage and keeps your pool in place. If your hydrostatic valve needs inspection or replacement, our scuba repair team can change it out quickly, without draining your pool.

So today we're talking about the hydrostatic valve. In the first video, I installed the hydrostatic valve and showed you how when the water table rises, valve opens up and equalizes pressure within the pool. Today we're gonna go over the O-ring that seals the valve. When the water table lowers, the O-ring that's in the hydrostatic valve is rubber and it can lose its elasticity over time.

Due to chlor exposure, your hydrostatic valve with the deteriorated O-ring can lose up to 50 to a hundred gallons a day. This is why it's important to get your hydrostatic valve inspected With scuba repairs, we can dive down. We have a specialty tool to change them out. Another common problem is you wanna get yours inspected post storm because with all the rain it could raise the water table and debris could get caught inside and not allow it to latch and seal properly.
