How to Replace a Mansfield Flush Valve Seal

To fix a constantly running toilet, turn off the water and drain the tank. Remove the fill hose and trip lever, then pull out the old flush valve seal. Replace it with a new seal, ensuring it snaps into place. Reattach the trip lever, ensuring it's not overtightened. Finally, turn the water back on and check that everything is functioning properly.

We have a toilet tank that is constantly running and you can see down there that red. That is a flush valve seal for this style of flush valve. And it is seen better days. So we are going to replace that valve. First thing we're gonna do is turn off the water.

Got all the water, as much water out of that tank as we can.

Yeah, that thing looks beat. So what we'll then do is pull out the fill hose, twist this off. Okay. And then

take our trip lever loose.

Okay, that's loose. And then now this just pulls straight off. And then we should be able to grab, ugh.

Yeah. That, that has seen better days. All right, we have the new seal. We're gonna drop this down. There's a little. Recess down here in the bottom where we're gonna attempt to get this thing snapped in.

So we got the new seal on, we.

Get this guy put back on.

Okay. Rerun our trip lever.

These are reverse thread. You don't want to tighten them too much.

And now let's turn the water back on.

Let it.

All right. It's full

and we're good to go.
