All right, so how do you enter an apartment, uh, to do a work order? Uh, and you may be thinking, what do you, what do you mean? How do I enter an apartment? Uh, this, this isn't something I need to watch a video on. Uh, which may be the case. Maybe you are a seasoned vet, you've been doing this for a hundred years, or maybe you're not, maybe you're new and you really have no idea.

Um, but a best practice here. Um, obviously consult your policies and procedures for your company. But a best practice is to make yourself very well known. Okay? So knocking on the door several times outside the door saying Maintenance, maintenance, maintenance, uh, entering the, uh, putting the key in or entering the code.

Uh, cracking the door open. Hello. Maintenance, maintenance, maintenance. Making yourself very well known that you are entering the apartment. Uh, you could have someone on the other side of the apartment who's asleep. Um, or gig economy. A lot of people could be home streaming, um, working from home, doing call center work, and they may have headsets on, they may not be able to get up and come to meet you at the door.

So you want to make sure that you are making yourself well known before just putting the key in and open the door and, and walking in. So, you know, just. Knock loud, be loud, be purposeful. As they're looking through a peephole, make sure that your face is visible. Make sure that your name tag is visible.

Make sure that your company brand is visible. If you have that type of shirt. Uh, if you don't have name tags, but you never just walk up to the door and put the key in and just let yourself in. So it's very simple.

Maintenance, maintenance. It is very easy and that will help keep you from getting into any type of trouble from a resident. Again, assume you're being recorded. Uh, well, he didn't knock or she didn't knock on my door. They just walked themselves right into my apartment. Always cover yourselves.
