So, uh, we'll talk about our high limit switch. So what this means, this l here, uh, that means our limit is 135 degrees. And our reset is 35 degrees Fahrenheit. So this is a safety device that if it starts to overheat and exceeds this 135 degree temperature, it will open, which will then kill power to our heat strips.

So this is a normally closed switch, so that means it's always, always, um. Completing the circuit. So to test it, we'll put our meter on continuity so it is closed. There is a connection between those two terminals. Okay? Okay. Now, once this would heat up and, uh, exceed a temperature of 1 35, this switch would open, which would then kill this access between the two.

Which would save our system and prevent overheating. A lot of times this happens when fan relays go bad and indoor evaporators aren't working. Uh, it can cause the heat to accumulate, but this is a safety device to protect our system, protect our homes, uh, from overheating of our heating elements.
