I've been in property management maintenance for almost two decades, and I get this question asked a lot every single year. Can I use regular dish soap in my dishwasher? Well, the simple answer is absolutely not. The biggest problem or issue that you'll have when you use regular dish soap is because of the thickness of the soap.
It's gonna create too much soap scum or soap bubbles. Therefore, your dishwasher will have to overflow with bubbles. You'll be calling me to come fix it. At the end of the day, we really want to use special design products. That are specially made for your dishwasher that are safe, friendly, and will not flood your unit.
This has been your Fix It Friday with Josh Facts. Have a nice day.
