 Today we're gonna go over some quick things that your maintenance can do if you suspect you have water loss at your property. So come out to the pool, grab a number two pencil, and the first thing you want to do is mark your waterline on the skimmer, okay? And you want to do this periodically throughout the year to gauge how much water evaporation you have during typical condition.

Losses of more are usually gonna indicate a leak. Alright, now that you have that trick to monitor your water loss, if you suspect you have a leak, there's three types of leaks, there's pressure, suction, and structural. We're gonna go over a really quick way your maintenance guys could check through and look at some problematic areas.

So you, first thing you're gonna need is, this is a dye pen.

Remove your skimmer basket. Then you want to inspect the area around really good for cracks, joints. And if you see an area, let's say this is a crack that you suspect has a leak, just add a small amount. And normally you want to have your pool shut off to minimize water movement. And then you want to put a little bit of dye.

If you see it, enter in the crack. You found your leak, you can check around your light housing, so you can check around your return jets. Put a little D in front of the return jet, and if it enters inside, you know you have a leak there at your return jet.
