Appearance
Hello there. Let's talk today about redefining maintenance with app work. We're gonna talk today about redefining appearance and how as a maintenance technician, we should pay attention to our appearance. When we walk up to a door and you knock on that door, the first thing that any resident is gonna see is not everything that we are.
In other words, they're not gonna see our shoes, they're not gonna see our pants, they're. Barely even gonna see our shirt. Think about it. The next time you're inside a vacant apartment, go to the front door, look through the peephole. What do you see? It's a little bit indistinct, and really what it is is a very, very small window into the world.
That's what our residents see, and when we're standing in front of the peephole, generally speaking about all our residents, see is what you're seeing now. If you're watching me on video, just your face. Your hair, possibly a little bit of your collar in your shirt. Now, if you take a step back, you become even more indistinct.
But it's that first impression that we want to give our residents to. The confidence to open the door for us as maintenance technicians. That's also a good reason why we should be wearing a name badge or a name tag, something that gives our residents the confidence to open the door for us. Think about the next piece of appearance.
When they open the door, what's the first thing they see? Hopefully they see someone who has a smile on their face and is ready to come inside and provide the best service possible.
