Let's talk best practices on, uh, maintenance tech, maintenance pro, uh, appearance. Each company should have their own policies and procedures on uniforms or, um, required attire. Uh, to wear during work. Some companies require still toe boots, um, belts, pants, shirts must be tucked in, so definitely consult your policy and procedure manual, but one out outside of the, the physical, you need to, well, when I say outside the physical, I don't mean like the, the, the clothes that you have on, I want you to think about the things that, that you yourself can control.

Make sure that you carry booties with you when you are entering someone's home. Uh, that will protect their flooring surfaces. Make them more comfortable about someone coming in, uh, to, to their home. Uh, whether or not they ask you to put them on, always offer, um, and. You know, a lot of times, you know, they may or may not say that's not necessary or, you know, um, but, you know, I for one, do not like taking off my shoes.

I don't even walk barefoot in my own home. Um, which is bad. I know, but it's military. They taught me a long time. You take care of your feet. So I'm kind of, you know, passing that on to you. Um, take care of your feet, but booties, belts, shirts tucked in. Hair not full of sheet rock, dust and dirt and debris from being on the floor in someone else's apartment.

Clean yourself off. Dust yourself off, uh, before and in between work orders just to make sure you're giving the best, you're putting your best foot forward. You're giving the resident your best. Uh, that will make them a little bit more comfortable about you coming in to their home. Think about it in, in this way too, if you opened the door.

For a service tech at your own home and you saw who was standing there, would you feel comfortable letting them into your home or would you ask them to put on booties, dust themselves off? Right. So go the extra mile. Okay. Be professional.
